Celebrating Completion of the BoatSense Pilot

Mobility Sensing and the Province of South-Holland celebrate the successful conclusion of the BoatSense pilot! Over the past years Mobility Sensing deployed and operated 30 BoatSense devices on 20 sites along all major waterways of South-Holland. Combined, the BoatSense sensors provide a tight-knit sensor network to monitor all vessel traffic on the waterways of the Province. In total the sensor network reported more than 1.4 million passing vessels!

These data provide the Province with valuable insights into the movement of both professional as recreational sailing on their waterways. BoatSense not only detects each passing vessel but also reports its sailing speed and direction, and vessel length.
