StreetSense Smartens up City Centre and Industrial Area in Breda

With the aim to build a future-proof city, the municipality of Breda has recently installed 17 StreetSense devices and 9 air quality sensors. Supplied by Mobility Sensing, these sensors collect valuable data on the state and use of its streets and quality of the air, contributing to a better understanding of the urban environment and the well-being of its residents.

The StreetSense devices have been deployed not only in Breda’s city center but also in the industrial area near the Hazeldonk border crossing, a crucial logistics corridor. This provides valuable insights into both urban traffic patterns and cross-border transportation.

The rollout of these sensors is part of the Dutch Mobility Innovations (DMI) project, which aims to enhance mobility and livability in Dutch cities through innovative technologies. By testing this innovative technology Breda wants to gain more insight in the quality of the air and the traffic distribution in the municipality.  This information can contribute to improvement of the quality of life in Breda.
