The streets of Helmond smarten up!

From west to east and north to south, Helmond streets are becoming even smarter! Yesterday, StreetSense by Mobility Sensing was rolled out in the Municipality of Helmond. The StreetSense devices now provide live data on the condition and use of these Helmond streets. Helmond will use the data to, among others, improve its traffic model and optimize its gritting operations.

The rollout of StreetSense in Helmond is part of the Dutch Metropolitan Innovations (DMI) project, made possible in part by the Dutch National Growth Fund. Zwolle and Apeldoorn preceded Helmond and in the fall, Helmond’s sensor network will be further expanded by Mobility Sensing.
